DevOps Engineer – Space, Defence and Intelligence (Space, Defence & Intelligence)

About the Role

The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit at CGI is a leading IT Systems Integrator, specialising in designing, building, and operating bespoke, mission-critical systems for security, defence, and intelligence. This role operates under a hybrid model, with some on-site presence required for project demands and potential travel to client sites (expensed).

Core Duties

  • Automate the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using Terraform, Azure, and Jira
  • Plan, prioritise, and estimate work in Kanban/Scrum ceremonies
  • Collaborate with developers & testers to diagnose issues, validate configurations, and replicate tests
  • Deploy and manage both cloud-based and on-premise applications, ensuring optimal performance and security
  • Partner with global tech firms, SMEs, and academia to deliver tailored solutions

  • Docker (Containerisation & Orchestration)
  • Linux (Bash scripting, package management)
  • AWS (EC2, RDS, Basic CLI Usage)

✅ Security:

  • Must be a sole UK national with either:
    • Existing higher-level clearance, or
    • Willingness to obtain clearance (process supported by CGI)
