DevOps Engineer - Platform Engineering

Remote Working | Day rate: £500 per day (Outside IR35)

Join a growing Platform Engineering team and play a key role in designing, building and supporting secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. This is an opportunity to contribute to a technology-driven organisation as it continues to enhance and scale its digital platforms, working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and support secure, scalable, highly available and cost-optimised cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
  • Monitor and maintain platform availability, performance and reliability.
  • Deploy and manage cloud technologies within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver platform improvements.
  • Support Agile delivery practices using Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and platform operations.

Requirements

  • Commercial experience developing and deploying Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform, YAML and ARM templates.
  • Experience creating, monitoring and managing resources in Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) principles.
  • Experience building and managing Kubernetes-based services.
  • Knowledge of containerisation and Helm chart management.
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Using AI tools to improve engineering productivity and software delivery.
  • Cost optimisation and FinOps practices.
  • Understanding of C#.NET development environments.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, Bicep, Linux (Ubuntu), observability platforms and business continuity principles.
