Sparta Global are hiring a mid-level DevOps Engineer on a 6-month FTC, to work remotely within the UK.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to support the development, deployment and operation of cloud-based services within an AWS environment.
You will work closely with software engineering, infrastructure and delivery teams to improve deployment processes, automate infrastructure and ensure systems remain secure, reliable and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure within AWS.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Support the deployment and operation of applications across multiple environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability and security.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Work with development teams to improve release processes and DevOps practices.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement across cloud infrastructure and delivery processes.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Commercial experience working in a DevOps or cloud engineering role.
- Strong experience with AWS services.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
- Scripting experience using Python, Bash or PowerShell.
- Understanding of cloud security, monitoring and networking.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Desirable Skills:
- AWS certification.
- Experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana or Prometheus.
- Experience supporting highly available or business-critical systems.
