DevOps Engineer

6-Month Contract

Newcastle (Hybrid)

Up to £350 per day

We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and modern CI/CD solutions within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in designing, building and optimising cloud infrastructure, while helping to drive automation, security and continuous delivery across multiple projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, build and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure.
  • Develop and enhance end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable software delivery.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.
  • Ensure infrastructure is secure, resilient and aligned with enterprise security standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture and delivery teams to drive technical solutions.
  • Lead infrastructure design decisions and provide technical guidance across multiple teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, deployment processes and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for

  • Strong commercial experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Expert knowledge of infrastructure design and cloud architecture.
  • Proven experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar).
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation using Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
