Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps & Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join Mastercard's Real Time Payments International team. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and operational excellence of mission-critical payment platforms by driving production readiness, incident management, automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the availability, monitoring, and performance of critical production platforms.
- Execute operational processes to ensure platform stability and health.
- Lead and coordinate medium to high-severity production incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive permanent resolutions.
- Support production deployments, releases, and change management activities.
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, database, and performance-related issues.
- Enhance observability using monitoring tools and proactive alerting.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks using DevOps best practices.
- Improve CI/CD processes and deployment automation.
- Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams during incidents and releases.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Production Support, DevOps, or Platform Operations.
- Strong experience supporting production systems in financial services or payment platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Java application production support.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
- Experience with Oracle or similar relational databases.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Chef, or equivalent.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, infrastructure, networking, and virtualization.
- Experience with incident management, change management, and production releases.
- Scripting experience using Shell, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
