Dex is an AI recruiter agent

Dex is an AI recruiter agent that helps you run your job search. Tell Dex your stack, seniority, and what you want to build. We will manage your applications and surface other opportunities that are a fit.

The role

This company builds the intelligence layer that intercepts scams before payments clear. Their investigation engine classifies each payment, orchestrates a live multi-source investigation using AI agents, and returns a risk decision — in real time, to major banks. This isn't a theoretical problem. It's a critical, 24/7 platform, running on live payment flows, backed by leading investors and expanding internationally.

You'll be the first DevOps Engineer, owning the reliability of this critical system. This isn't a maintenance role. It's a foundational build. You'll define what observability looks like for AI-native infrastructure, where non-deterministic agents mean traditional monitoring falls short. You'll set the incident response culture, evolve the Terraform estate on GCP, and make deployments safe enough for a fast-moving engineering team. This is the seat where you build the infrastructure the company scales from.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The work

  • Design and implement observability for a 24/7, AI-native platform where non-deterministic agents challenge traditional monitoring.
  • Own the reliability of systems processing live payment flows for major banks, where downtime directly impacts fraud investigations.
  • Define and embed the incident response culture, processes, and tooling for a rapidly scaling engineering team.
  • Evolve the Terraform estate on GCP, ensuring infrastructure is secure by default and built for international scale.
  • Build and refine CI/CD pipelines that balance rapid deployment velocity with robust rollback safety.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in DevOps or SRE, with significant experience as a first or sole infrastructure hire in an early-stage environment.
  • Deep expertise in Terraform, managing complex production infrastructure on GCP.
  • A track record of designing and implementing observability for distributed systems, ideally including non-deterministic or ML-powered components.
  • Proven experience leading incident response, including on-call duties, incident management, and process improvement.
  • Strong security foundations: network security, least-privilege access, and secrets management.
