Locations: Sheffield, UK
Job Type: Contract (3 days Onsite to the client location)
Note: GCP Experience is mandatory
Job Description:
DevOps Engineer – Identity & Access Management (IAM)
The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in delivering and operating enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) capabilities. This role is responsible for automating the deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of IAM platforms and integrations. The engineer will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable IAM services across the organization. The position works closely with IAM architects, security engineers, platform teams, and application owners to support and deploy both cloud and on-premises IAM solutions.
The organization is transforming its Identity & Access Management practices by introducing modern IAM platforms and tools to enhance identity governance and security. We are seeking experienced DevOps Engineers with strong expertise in cloud platforms and Identity Management across AWS, GCP, and Azure. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in complex global environments and delivering solutions in fast-paced organizations. This role reports to the Lead Architects and is part of a highly skilled IAM engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for IAM components, policies, connectors, microservices, and integrations.
- Enable automated testing, security scanning, and controlled deployments across Development, Test, and Production environments.
- Continuously improve IAM release processes through automation and optimization.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) to deploy IAM infrastructure, identity policies, directories, and supporting platforms.
- Ensure consistent, repeatable environments while maintaining compliance with architectural standards.
- Develop scripts and automation for account lifecycle management, access provisioning, and system integrations.
- Deploy IAM services and related microservices on Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, and serverless environments.
- Manage containerization, service mesh integrations, certificates, and secrets for IAM workloads.
- Integrate security into build and deployment processes, including vulnerability scanning, secrets detection, and code quality checks.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with Zero Trust principles and IAM security policies.
- Work closely with IAM architects, security teams, and application owners to deliver secure identity solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation for CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, deployment patterns, and operational processes.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GCP Provisioning, including Terraform Core, GCP Infrastructure, Policy as Code, and policy development/maintenance.
- Containerization and Kubernetes (GKE), including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm/Kustomize, and GKE Operations.
- CI/CD engineering, pipeline development, artifact management, automated testing, and deployment strategies.
- Data pipeline and DevOps technologies, including Kafka, Pub/Sub, Schema Registry, streaming infrastructure, and monitoring.
- Graph platform engineering with Neo4j, including backups, recovery, disaster recovery, GDS/APOC, and observability.
- DevSecOps and platform security, including security scanning, IAM, network security, and compliance.
- Release engineering and governance, including release operations, change management, and documentation.
- Regional deployment strategies, failover, data residency, and conditional access.

Soft Skills

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
- Understanding of enterprise-scale technologies deployed in global IT environments.
- Experience managing work using Jira and Jira Service Management.
- Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with users of varying technical backgrounds.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple countries and time zones.
