Position & Location
- Role: Senior DevOps Engineer
- Department: Platform Engineering
- Reports to: Senior Technology Manager
- Location: London or Amsterdam
- Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote
About This Role
Whether it’s delivering Friday-night meals, post-workout meals, or grocery orders, we’re reshaping how the world eats through our dynamic tech platform. We’re seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to elevate our Developer Experience and push our platform to the next level.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop new engineer-facing products and features
- Build robust, scalable software components using Python
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure and automation for high availability
- Optimise applications to maximise speed and scalability
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks
- Collaborate with global team members and stakeholders
- Adopt a flexible, proactive approach, aligning with Agile methodologies
- Support and maintain high availability within our SaaS environment

Requirements & Skills
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience working in production environments as a Software Developer or DevOps/Platform Engineer
- Python proficiency and strong software design experience (SOLID, DRY patterns)
- Expertise in AWS (or similar cloud platforms), containerisation, and Kubernetes
- Deep knowledge of API design (RESTful or GraphQL)
- Experience with established CI/CD toolchains (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Argo CD, Azure DevOps)
- Must be comfortable with GIT version control
- Experience with production monitoring systems like ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch
- Strong understanding of web architecture and high availability practices
- Advanced problem-solving skills to debug and optimise complex systems
- Ability to experiment and drive innovation
Soft Skills & Mindset
- Industry-leading coding skills and ability to debug and optimise code efficiently
- Collaborative mindset—prefers working in internationally dispersed teams
- Innovative spirit with a willingness to testing and performance optimisation
- Familiarity with:
- Container Orchestration (e.g., Amazon ECS)
- Serverless technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda)
