DevOps Engineer
Senior DevOps Engineer
Department: Platform Engineering Title: Senior DevOps Engineer Reporting To: Senior Technology Manager Location: London or Amsterdam Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days office, 2 days remote)
About the Role
At JET Platform Engineering, we’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who can elevate our developer experience and push our developer platform to the next level.
We’re building the next generation of Platform Engineering, and we need someone to swim fast, react, and adapt—a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and stays ahead of the latest technology.
If you have a track record of executing in production environments and delivering exceptional results with Python, cloud automation, and modern DevOps practices, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & development of engineer-facing products and features
- Building scalable software components/services using Python
- Designing & managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and automation for high availability
- Optimizing applications for speed and scalability
- Creating & maintaining technical documentation (including runbooks)
- Collaborating globally with technical & business stakeholders
- Taking a proactive Agile approach and self-organising
- Supporting SaaS-grade reliability & uptime

Technical Skills
Deployment & Infrastructure
- Hands-on production experience as a Software Developer or DevOps/Platform Engineer
- Strong skills with Python (Object-Oriented, Design Patterns: SOLID, DRY)
- Cloud infrastructure expertise (AWS/GCP/Azure) + cross-cloud comfort
- Containerisation & Kubernetes (Oke, ECS, EKS) + **serverless tech (AWS Lambda, etc.)
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
- Scalable RESTful/GraphQL API design & performance tuning
- Git & version control (branching strategies, PR reviews, workflows)
- Monitoring systems (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch)
Testing & Observability
- Testing-driven development (unit, integration, performance, load)
- Debugging & optimising complex distributed systems
- Incident response & postmortem documentation
Architecture & Collateral
- High-availability infrastructure design
- API design principles (security, caching, versioning)
- Documentation & automation (playbooks, runbooks, pipelines)
