In this role, you will combine technical leadership with a continuous improvement mindset to accelerate delivery, enhance platform reliability, and enable high-performing teams. Working as a trusted advisor, you will help shape modern engineering practices, drive automation and operational excellence, and support the creation of a secure and sustainable delivery ecosystem. You will also champion innovation, AI awareness, and knowledge sharing to help build a future-ready workforce while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Hybrid Working

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role

  • Lead, coach, and support engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
  • Define and continuously improve engineering standards, delivery practices, and operational excellence across programmes.
  • Drive adoption of automation and streamlined delivery approaches that improve speed, quality, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to achieve successful business outcomes.
  • Design and maintain scalable infrastructure and deployment approaches that support growth, resilience, and performance.
  • Promote proactive service reliability practices, reducing operational risk and improving customer experience.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Embed security, compliance, and governance considerations throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure effective environment, release, and deployment management practices that minimise disruption and maximise business value.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, AI fluency, and knowledge sharing to support a future-ready workforce.

Your Skills

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in continuous integration, continuous delivery, release management, and deployment automation principles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and managing cloud-based infrastructure and modern application delivery platforms.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, configuration management, and environment provisioning practices.
  • Experience working with containerised and distributed application architectures.
  • Solid knowledge of observability, monitoring, incident management, and service reliability principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities in business-critical environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement, engineering best practices, and operational excellence.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, AI-enabled ways of working, and their application within software delivery and operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
