This DevOps Cloud Engineer (Wintel) role involves leveraging Windows, Active Directory, and modern cloud platforms to implement MCBRIDE, the MOD/Army’s geographic data intelligence service on AWS (with potential for GCP expansion).

Role Objective
The DevOps Engineer (Wintel) will design, deploy, and maintain the Windows infrastructure and AWS cloud components of MCBRIDE. Responsibilities include:
- Process automation (e.g., Terraform, GitOps)
- Windows Server/AD administration (DNS, certificates, PowerShell, Group Policy)
- Cloud-native service management (Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code, AWS/GCP systems)

Expected Outputs
Key deliverables include:
- Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code – Deploy, configure, and document Windows/AWS infrastructure. (Ansible experience desirable; training provided)
- Wintel Configuration – Windows Server/Domain setup, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, PKI, PowerShell scripting.
- GitOps – Implement and manage cloud infrastructure via Git-based workflows.
- Team Collaboration – Work closely with a small DevOps/architect team to foster solution-driven culture for MCBRIDE.
- Problem-Solving – Innovate within strict security constraints.
- Continuous Learning – Adapt to emerging technologies as the platform evolves.
Skills Required
Core capabilities for this role:
- DevOps fundamentals:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Git version control
- Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code
- Wintel expertise:
- Active Directory, Windows Server, PowerShell
- Cloud proficiency:
- Primary: AWS (experience in Azure/GCP preferred but candidates from any hyper scalers welcome)
- Cloud security models (upholding compliance standards)
- Analytical/debugging skills – Troubleshoot implementation/ operational issues.
- Best-practice compliance – Stay updated in cloud-native environments.
Previous Experience Required
- 3+ years in IT infrastructure management
- Proven success in Wintel environments
- DevOps experience (beyond basic support)
- (Optional: prior MOD/cloud-environment experience—preferential but not required)

- Hashicorp Terraform Associate

- AZ-800, AZ-801
- MCSA, MCSE
Additional Requirements
- Security clearance (or ability/willingness to obtain relevant clearance)
- Hybrid work model, with ability to work onsite as needed
