DFG Surveyor Social Housing

Location: Leicester

Contract: 6 Months

Rate: £30-£35 per hour (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced DFG Surveyor to join a social housing organisation in Leicester on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a DFG Surveyor to manage a varied portfolio of Disabled Facilities Grant adaptations, helping residents remain safe and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake surveys and technical assessments for adaptation works.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work, drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Manage DFG-funded projects from initial referral through to completion.
  • Oversee contractors and carry out site inspections.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Liaise with occupational therapists, residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation.
  • Certify completed works and maintain accurate project records.

  • Stairlifts and through-floor lifts.
  • Access ramps and pathways.
  • Door widening and accessibility improvements.
  • Kitchen adaptations.
  • Bespoke disability adaptations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience delivering Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) projects.
  • Experience within social housing, housing associations, local authorities, or adaptation services.
  • Strong technical surveying and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
