DFG Surveyor Social Housing
Location: Leicester
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: £30-£35 per hour (DOE)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced DFG Surveyor to join a social housing organisation in Leicester on an initial 6-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a DFG Surveyor to manage a varied portfolio of Disabled Facilities Grant adaptations, helping residents remain safe and independent in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake surveys and technical assessments for adaptation works.
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work, drawings, and cost estimates.
- Manage DFG-funded projects from initial referral through to completion.
- Oversee contractors and carry out site inspections.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Liaise with occupational therapists, residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Certify completed works and maintain accurate project records.

Typical Adaptation Projects
- Level-access showers and wet rooms.
- Stairlifts and through-floor lifts.
- Access ramps and pathways.
- Door widening and accessibility improvements.
- Kitchen adaptations.
- Bespoke disability adaptations.
Requirements
- Previous experience delivering Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) projects.
- Experience within social housing, housing associations, local authorities, or adaptation services.
- Strong technical surveying and project management skills.
- Knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
