About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled diabetes/wound management podiatrist to integrate into our diabetes podiatry service, working across 10 locations in Torbay and South Devon. This role offers a developmental opportunity for an experienced practitioner with the ability to work independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
Key Responsibilities
As the Clinical Specialist Podiatrist, you will:
- Manage a high-risk caseload in in-patient and out-patient settings, providing comprehensive podiatric assessments and health education.
- Collaborate with the community podiatry team and MDFT Active Foot Team to ensure a seamless patient journey.
- Conduct home visits for housebound patients, delivering specialised care where needed.
- Support elderly and at-risk patients, ensuring they receive appropriate intervention and referrals.
- Engage in teaching, mentoring, and research to contribute to service improvement.
- Work as part of a Multi-disciplinary Team, providing diabetes and wound care across both Primary and Secondary Care.

Essential Requirements
- Proven expertise in diabetes podiatry and wound management.
- Ability to practice independently while maintaining high clinical standards.
- Experience within multi-disciplinary teams, demonstrating excellent collaboration skills.
- For priority consideration: Recognised "Priority" or "At Risk" status (including NHS Devon staff).
