Qualified Radiographer Vacancy
We are seeking a qualified Radiographer with MRI experience to join our diagnostic imaging team.
About the Role
At the University of Edinburgh, our technical staff play a crucial role in supporting teaching, research, and the smooth operation of our facilities. From maintaining state-of-the-art lab equipment to pioneering new techniques, your work will contribute to ground-breaking advancements that extend beyond academia.
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies on the Easter Bush Campus is a world-leading centre for clinical excellence, welfare, and research. Here, you’ll support a dynamic team of 3 radiographers and 7 radiologists, ensuring the efficient operation of diagnostic imaging facilities for the Hospital for Small Animals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing high-quality diagnostic images for clinical and research purposes on small animals.
- Organising and prioritising daily/weekly workflow, both independently and collaboratively.
- Contributing to teaching veterinary students in all aspects of diagnostic imaging.
- Overseeing the operation and maintenance of MRI, CT, and X-ray equipment, including organising maintenance programs and ensuring effective image archiving.
- Driving continuous improvement to enhance animal care and research outputs.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), with a salary range of £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.

Your Skills and Attributes for Success
- An interest in teaching and animals, ideally with at least two years' experience in CT and MRI.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of radiation protection and MRI regulations.
- Animal-handling skills are desirable; willingness to work closely with animals is essential.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work hours when needed.
