Are you a driven individual looking for a new challenge? Then look no further!
We have opportunities for band 5 radiographers who put patients at the heart of their practice and want to develop in busy, friendly departments. If you are enthusiastic and hard working then the Imaging Departments at this busy Acute Teaching Foundation Trust are the place for you.
You must demonstrate high standards of radiography, organisation and patient care. The main work area is within the Main X-Ray at Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley District and General Hospitals. You would be working a combination of shifts including long days, nights and weekends in a rotation through all aspects of Plain film including theatres and potential for travel between sites on shift. There will be opportunities to gain experience in other imaging modalities including CT and Nuclear medicine, with the possibility of advanced training in these.
We are looking for a proficient, valuable, and reliable member of the Diagnostic Imaging team. This involves providing high-quality Radiographic images while working on rotation through the main imaging areas of the department. Additionally, it includes offering a mobile service to the wards and theatres.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
