**Diagnostic Technician – Volkswagen Passenger Cars |
Location: Volkswagen Passenger Car Dealership, Poole Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Salary & OTE: £36,000–£45,000 per annum (£36,000–£39,000 base + £6,000 OTE)

Van Mossel Breeze is part of the Breeze Motor Group, now operating under the Van Mossel Automotive Group. Originally founded in 2000 with a Volkswagen Passenger Car showroom, the business has expanded to include:
- Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (including Van Centres)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The Role: Diagnostic Technician
As part of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars team, this role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to chip-free standards—ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults using approved diagnostic equipment, following Volkswagen Group guidelines
- Perform vehicle maintenance & repairs to meet VW standards, including communication with the workshop controller
- Collaborate with managers to complete additional repair tasks as advised
- Complete accurate, brand-compliant documentation and warranty procedures
- Maintain health & safety compliance at all times
- Ensure repaired vehicles meet safety standards before return to customers
- Record all faults and reported issues on job cards
- Contribute to continuous improvement in workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction
Requirements
Essential
- Diagnostic skills: Ability to identify and resolve complex faults, interpreting diagnostic reports effectively
- Technical expertise: Proficient in vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair—covering mechanical and electrical systems
- Communication & customer service: Skilled in explaining technical issues clearly to non-specialist stakeholders
- Relevant qualification: Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds) in automotive technology
- Diagnostic tools: Familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment & software (dealership/automotive workshop required)
- Health & safety awareness: Strict adherence to branded and workshop regulatory standards
- Driving license: Full, valid UK licence (needed for test-driving vehicles)
