Role Overview
As a diddi dance leader, you’ll prepare and deliver vibrant, stimulus-rich dance sessions for young children (ages 2–7) across a mix of formats:
- Weekly classes – Professionally structured sessions at studios, schools, or nurseries
- Private parties – Dynamic, on-the-spot entertainment for special occasions
- Nursery/School Programme – Curriculum-aligned movement workshops for Early Years and KS1
The role thrives on blending energetic teaching, interpersonal warmth, and logistical resilience, with the flexibility to adapt to different locations, time zones, and participant levels.
Responsibilities
Session Delivery
- Lead structured yet playful dance activities, incorporating action songs, creative movement, games, and themed props.
- Maintain a safety-first and inclusive environment, keeping all children engaged (e.g., split sessions into mixed-age groups when needed).
- Adapt lesson pace and complexity to cater to individual learning styles and developmental levels.
- Ensure respectful interaction with children and families, modelling patience and energy.

Logistical Tasks
- Assemble/disassemble studio space, storing/unpacking props, equipment, and media players in under 10 minutes pre- and post-session.
- Assess and document session effectiveness (e.g., conduct quick activity trials, gain participant feedback) to tailor future lessons.
- Support team members within a studio or local area; share expertise and fold into community events where required.
Communication & Promotion
- Bridge the gap between parents/caregivers and nursery/school staff by keeping both loops informed about curriculum focus, progress, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with franchise brands to promote spring term promotions, refer new clients, and book repeat party sessions.
- Upskill franchises via online, self-paced training modules (specific to di(danç’s) methodology) and foster a collaborative studio dynamic.
Compliance & Wellbeing
- Maintain custody of Attendance Sheets, noting all di(dnç participants, behaviour notes, or concerns for future sessions.
- Committing di(dnç’s standards of safeguarding. Abide by all relevant UK child welfare laws and reporting protocols.
- Engage with annual, mandatory whole-team refresher training (e.g., behaviour management strategies) once certified.
Role Requirements
Core Experience & Skills
- Deep instinct for child-led playful learning: Excellently engage individual/whole groups of young children (ages 2–7) through demonstration, laughter, and consistency.
- Capacity to craft curriculum bridge without interruption when moving between:
- Swinging, running, and basic group formation games for younger children.
- Choreography touches, lyrical phrasing cohesion, and drum circle calisthenics in bigger sessions partieves.
- Comfort with both small-scale travellers (e.g., visiting venues) or large-scale retail setups (e.g., studio).

Professional Pillar Strengths
- Education Aligned – Knowledge or hands-on experience with principles in the Early Years Foundation Stage, gross/fine motor skill development, or British Curriculum frameworks is a major plus.
- Training and Teaching – Prior work in schools, daycare facilities, tap, gymnastics, or fitness instruction provides clear context. DIY dance or theatre backgrounds relish the transition energetically.
- First Aid Aware – Experience or readiness to undertake Level 2 Paediatric First Aid within 90 days.
