Dietary Aide/ Per Diem
Provides personal care and professional excellence by performing a variety of kitchen duties as assigned in a quality manner.
- Assembles prepared foods accurately for regular or modified diet trays, safely delivers trays to serving areas or to patients, and returns trays to clean-up areas.
- May prepare and serve between meal nourishments for patients.
- May work alone or as part of a team effectively on a moving assembly line in the main kitchen.
- May accurately and safely tend and load machines that clean food-service items or may hand wash items that are not machine washable.
- Delivers clean dishes and utensils to proper kitchen units.
- Thoroughly cleans work areas, tables, and cabinets. Observes infection control practices at all times.
- Thoroughly washes and cleans fruits and vegetables and peels, dices, shreds, or slices them using kitchen hand utensils.
- May prepare sandwiches or other dishes as needed.
- Maintains good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Treats patient and families with respect and dignity.
- Prepares serving of desserts and appetizers by preparing fruit cups, cutting pies into individual portions, and placing other desserts on individual dishes.
- Performs accurately other duties for which he/she has been trained.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Other duties as assigned.
