Creode

Creode is a specialist digital agency. All of our clients are in financial services – building societies, wealth managers, investment platforms, financial mutuals. The work we do is brand development, website design and build, and digital acquisition campaigns. Usually all three, for the same client, at different stages of the same transformation.

That's our sweet spot: traditional financial services brands working out how to stay relevant to customers who are getting older and customers who are coming through younger. Discovery, brand, UX, design and build, digital media. We run the whole thing.

We're a lean team. We've repositioned as a sector specialist, embedded AI into how we work, and we're now looking for a Digital Account Director to lead on client projects and client relationships.

The Work

The core of the role is leading website projects and digital campaign delivery. Brand development is the third strand you'll be supporting and managing delivery alongside the Strategy Director rather than leading it, but it's an area where, over time, there's scope to take on more.

Website projects run from discovery and UX through to design and build. These aren't template jobs – clients are going through real change, the briefs are substantive, and the output needs to work for people across a wide age range with different levels of digital confidence. We've built our own WordPress platform for financial services called Mosaic – a customised environment with built-in tools, richer UX components, and integrations suited to regulated businesses. Our development and design teams work closely together, and the Account Director role is what knits the whole thing into a coherent experience for clients.

Brand development sits upstream of that – helping clients understand and articulate who they are, what they stand for, and how to express it. The sector has a lot of undifferentiated brands and clients increasingly know it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Digital campaigns are acquisition-focused – digital creative and paid media channels, aimed at bringing in new customers for clients who are trying to grow. Strategy, creative, channel planning, delivery.

The common thread is transformation. Clients come to us when something needs to change, and the work spans strategy through to execution.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading client relationships day-to-day – you'll be the main point of contact for your accounts, running the relationship and owning the work
  • Managing project delivery across website builds, brand projects, and digital campaigns – keeping things on time, on budget, and to a standard you're proud of
  • Contributing to strategy – helping shape what we recommend to clients, not just managing the output once a decision's been made
  • Working closely with our creative, UX, technical, and strategy teams to get the right people in the right conversations
  • Spotting opportunities to develop accounts – where there's more work to be done, a need that hasn't been named yet, or a relationship that could go further
  • Supporting new business pitches where your project knowledge or client credibility is useful
  • Getting to grips with how AI is changing what we can do for clients – and being interested enough to bring that into your work

Who We're Looking For

You've probably spent most of your career at a digital agency, running accounts and projects. You're used to managing clients at a senior level, comfortable with commercial conversations, and you have a real view on the work – not just the process around it.

Financial services experience isn't a requirement. What matters more is that you're interested in the sector and can see why it's an interesting place to work right now – lots of organisations under real pressure to change, with substantive briefs and genuine business problems to solve. If you've worked in FS, great. If you haven't but you're curious and you pick things up quickly, we'll take that.

The work requires someone who can move between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery. You'll need to be close enough to what's happening to have a view on it, and confident enough to share that view with clients.

You'll likely have:

  • Agency experience at Account Director level, or a strong case for why you're ready for it
  • A track record of delivering website, brand, or digital campaign projects – ideally a mix
  • Confidence managing client relationships at a senior level
  • Enough commercial awareness to have scoping and pricing conversations without needing hand-holding
  • An interest in AI and how it's changing agency work and client delivery
  • The ability to contribute to strategic thinking, not just manage the delivery
  • Some experience managing or mentoring others and a genuine interest in doing more of it

You won't be right for this if:

  • You want a job where you manage a process and hand it back. You prefer to keep your head down rather than lead. We need someone who cares about the output, has opinions about the work, and wants to bring others with them – not just deliver.

Why Creode

We're not a generalist agency with a financial services client or two. It's all we do, which means the knowledge compounds and the conversations get more interesting over time.

The team is small and capable. There's no bureaucracy to manage around. You'll have real responsibility from day one and a genuine opportunity to grow – including, for the right person, into a more senior role in the business over time.
