Account Director Senior Client Lead (B2B agency)
Manchester - Up to £52k
About The Role
I'm recruiting for a growing, creatively-led B2B agency looking for a commercially minded Account Director to own day-to-day delivery, client relationships and growth across a portfolio of strategic accounts. You'll lead cross-functional teams to deliver integrated brand, digital and campaign work, drive profitability, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to new business and thought leadership.
What you'll do
- Lead the day-to-day running of nominated client accounts, ensuring excellent service and on-time delivery.
- Translate client briefs into clear plans, proposals and scoped projects, working with strategy, creative and production teams.
- Own commercial performance: quoting, forecasting, fee targets, margin and billing accuracy.
- Identify and sell-in organic growth opportunities; support pitches and proposal development.
- Mentor and (where relevant) line-manage junior account team members, supporting their development.
- Represent the agency at client meetings and industry events as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
