Digital Accreditation Lead
Key Role: Digital Commercial Frameworks Accreditation Specialist
About the Role
Are you passionate about ensuring high standards across Digital and IT services for the NHS? This perfect next step could be yours if you enjoy:
- Collaborating in cross-functional teams
- Influencing national stakeholders
- Shaping accredited and developed frameworks for digital commercial assurance
You’ll also support the Operations Management team under the Digital & IT category umbrella, focusing on:
- Designing tender packs with user-centred design principles
- Evaluating suppliers against industry standards and compliance frameworks

Key Responsibilities

Leading accreditation processes to ensure new digital commercial frameworks comply with:
- GDS controls
- Cabinet Office standards
- NHS England (NHSE) assurance requirements
- Emerging digital policies

Coordinating submissions and evidence packs with:
- Central government assurance teams
- NHS bodies for approval

Acting as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) for digital assurance across:
- NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) commercial frameworks
- Providing advisory support to internal colleagues

Embedding compliance requirements into:
- Framework design & documentation
- Supplier onboarding processes
- Governance frameworks

Conducting retrospective audits to maintain ongoing compliance across frameworks

Supporting tender development with:
- User-centred design methodologies

Contributing to policy updates & continuous improvement
Requirements
Essential Criteria

Knowledge of digital assurance frameworks, including:
- GDS standards
- Cabinet Office controls
-
Experience in coordinating accreditation processes in:
- Digital/IT contexts
- Public sector or NHS environments

Understanding of framework governance (including audits & quality assurance)

Technical proficiency to:
- Interpret standards, policies & technical requirements

Ability to prepare evidence packs for external reviews

Exceptional organisational skills to:
- Manage multiple assurance activities efficiently
Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with:
- The Technology Code of Practice
- Other digital policy frameworks
- Experience with:
- NHS England, central government, or regulated bodies
- Awareness of:
- Emerging digital policy trends
