Digital Administrator

About the Role

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. It is developing all the time and is now being used as a support mechanism for all kinds of content-based creations. Please note the use of AI is monitored and if applicants have used it then they are required to declare this.

Clinical systems are more than records — they are the foundation of safe, high‑quality care and a powerful driver of improvement across our services. As a legal and clinical account of care, they tell the story of each patient’s journey and ensure that every decision, action, and outcome is accurately reflected.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact. By championing data quality and integrity, the post holder will help shape future policies, inform best practice, and influence how care is delivered for years to come. It is a pivotal position for someone who thrives on responsibility, values accuracy, and is motivated to drive positive service change. Working with autonomy and confidence, you will use your initiative, professional judgement, and decision‑making skills to support innovation and deliver a consistently high‑quality service.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Responsible for the maintenance, updating, downloading and analysis of key divisional data quality reports, drawing pertinent conclusions into infographics, graphs, and tables for presentation to the Digital Midwives and Business Informatics Partner.
  • To manage the divisional regular reporting workload, updating and circulating pre-existing SQL based excel reports, and managing/escalating queries as necessary to the Digital Midwives and Business Informatics Partner.
  • To create ad-hoc reports from front end system data, including the provision of analysis and oversight as required.
  • To complete data validation tasks, working unsupervised and alerting Digital Midwives of any areas requiring further investigation.
  • To identify areas where data quality is poor and to assist with supporting data correction as required.
  • To advise the Digital Midwives and Business Informatics Partner of any data issues and propose methods to improve data quality and deliver training and support for staff as appropriate.
  • To motivate staff to the correct use of clinical systems to prevent data quality issues arising; this includes identifying training needs and will require sensitivity, empathy for the competing demands of the midwife role and the ability to build a rapport to foster willingness to learn.
  • Develop training and communication tools to drive up data quality.
  • Organisation of meetings as required by the Digital Midwives including circulating agenda, minute taking.
  • Liaise with service users regarding Badger Notes access issues and troubleshooting.
  • Manages the BadgerNet Maternity IT service desk tickets escalating any urgent requests to the Digital Midwives.
  • Maintains documentation required by the Digital Midwives for system configuration and audit.
  • Build referrals, leaflets, and letters as per stakeholder requirements and upload to system.
  • Support the division at times of system failure such as directing staff to downtime paperwork and communicating the situation with managers.
  • To assist with data entry following system downtime into clinical records.
  • To ensure that patient confidentiality is always maintained.
  • To work flexibly according to the needs of the service.
  • To ensure compliance with a range of Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Control, Confidentiality, Data Protection, Sickness Absence and Risk Assessment.
  • Such other reasonable duties, appropriate to the grade, as agreed between the post holder and manager from time to time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
