Our CFO Technology experts work cross-functionally — alongside practitioners from all corners of Accordion — to arm CFOs with the appropriate digital solutions needed to implement the team’s business process recommendations and to capitalize on value creation opportunities. From ERP, CPM, Analytics, Data Integration, RPA, and beyond, CFO Tech provides finance leaders with a single, objective partner capable of delivering from strategy to execution.
This role will be based in our London office. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location, with the flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days a week, blending the best of both worlds for efficiency and collaboration.
Role Context
CFOs and finance functions in PE-backed businesses frequently face technology challenges that are complex, cross-cutting, and poorly served by single-system or domain expertise. The Digital Advisory Director exists to address exactly these situations. Operating across the full landscape of finance technology e.g., from ERP and CRM through to EPM, automation, and data, this role brings strategic clarity to ambiguous technology problems and orchestrates the right specialist resources to deliver against them. It is a role defined by breadth, commercial judgement, and the ability to connect finance operations with the technology decisions that shape them.
What You’ll Do
Digital Advisory Delivery
Lead finance technology diagnostic processes for clients that cut across ERP, CRM, EPM, and adjacent systems, often with a spike in one area depending on the nature of the diagnostic Deliver surgical and focused advisory on finance technology strategy, solution architecture, and technology transformation Facilitate impartial system selection processes, managing competitive vendor evaluations while maintaining advisory independence Provide credible, informed perspective on AI and automation in the finance function including where it adds value, what the risks are, and what readiness looks like Rapidly distill insights from data and client interactions to inform technology advisory recommendations that will support the delivery of finance focused value creation Lead the technology workstream in transaction-related scenarios including carve-outs, integrations, and first-100-day scenarios Define and communicate finance systems architecture recommendations both designing from scratch and articulating the implications of existing architectures to technical and non-technical stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
