Salary £27,204 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £29,859 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension

Location: Camborne, Plymouth, Charles Cross, Police Headquarters, Exeter

Type of employment: Permanent

Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need

About the role:

Please note: 2 positions - 1x full time & 1x Part Time.

  • Full time: 37 hours Location: Exeter/ Plymouth or Cornwall
  • Part Time: 11.47 hours Location: Plymouth Charles Cross

The principal responsibility of the Digital Charging Support Officer (DCSO) is to support an effective Criminal Justice System by ensuring prosecution files are provided to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in accordance with the National File Standard (NFS) and relevant service level agreements and guidance. The DCSOs work on remand cases, which are those where the defendant has been remanded in custody by way of charge process or warrant execution, to appear in the next available court and be prosecuted by CPS Area.
