Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit provides project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across sectors including: Infrastructure, defence, energy, water, environmental, transport, health, and care.

Role Overview: Principal Information Management Consultant
Are you an Information Management (IM) expert with experience in sectors like energy, transport, or water?
As a Principal Information Management Consultant, you’ll:
- Lead advisory projects, offering end-to-end, trusted IM expertise to clients.
- Grow the business by developing client and colleague relationships to create new opportunities.
- Champion information management excellence, ensuring asset performance optimisation and business objective alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project delivery, managing priorities, and directing junior staff while providing technical guidance & mentorship.
- Provide strategic IM advice to clients in sectors including water, energy, transport, rail, aviation, and defence.
- Develop and embed IM strategies aligned with BS1192:2016 and ISO 19650 standards.
- Enhance clients’ IM capabilities to improve infrastructure asset performance and business outcomes.
- Foster networking growth by expanding industry contacts and collectively promoting Mott MacDonald’s capabilities.

Candidate Specification
We seek a Principal Information Management Consultant with:
Essential Requirements
✔ Proven track record in IM solutions within water, buildings, rail, aviation, or defence. ✔ Drive for excellent outcomes for infrastructure owners and operators. ✔ Experience in:
- Project delivery processes (capital & construction.
- BS1192/ISO 19650 strategy/execution.
- BIM Execution Planning (BEP) and information exchange frameworks.
- Commercial awareness, particularly contractual IM implications.
- Data management concepts, including tech tools to facilitate IM. ✔ Strong proposal writing and client engagement abilities. ✔ Project leadership and problem-solving skills. ✔ Record in successful or phased major project delivery.
Advantageous Skills
🔹 Experience with lean & agile methodologies. 🔹 Proficiency in new technologies and solution design. 🔹 Closing ability for repeat business and new clients.
Location & Work Pattern
Primary Office: London (flexibility for others: Birmingham, Brighton, Manchester, Cambridge, or Leeds). Travel: Mandatory UK travel, with occasionally international placements.
