Are you ready to shape how a local authority tells its story? The Borough Council has an exciting Digital Content Assistant opportunity!
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL50
Salary: £29,064 - £31,537 (pay award pending wef 1 April 2026)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week – Hybrid

Digital Content Assistant - The Role:
You will support the communications team in creating and delivering high quality, accessible content for our online platforms and campaigns. Working closely with communications officers and the communications team leader, you will produce engaging digital media assets including photography and videography, support social media activity, assist with website content, and help maintain The Borough Council's brand identity across all communications. You will regularly attend events and meet with colleagues and partners to capture content and support internal and external communications activities.

Digital Content Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Create engaging, accessible and visually appealing content for online platforms, including videography, photography, marketing and digital media assets
- Support communications officers with social media, press office, project communications and newsletter activity
- Produce campaign reports demonstrating success, including social media metrics and media coverage
- Support web officers with content creation and editing for council websites
- Assist with internal communications including intranet content and event support
- Build and maintain positive relationships with press, partner organisations, council members and stakeholders
Digital Content Assistant - You:
- GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent, plus a relevant degree, apprenticeship or professional qualification such as CIPR, CIM or IIC
- Proven content creation skills in videography and photography with knowledge of editing suites
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines
- Creative flair and ability to translate council messaging into high impact campaigns
- Social media management experience
