Digital Content Manager (Mat Cover)

Closing Date: 19 July 2026 Contract Type: Fixed Term Full Time (12 months maternity cover) Salary: £43,250–£48,055 Location: London (Hybrid)

About the Role

As Digital Content Manager, you’ll lead our organisation’s digital content strategy, ensuring:

  • Strategic direction for all digital content to foster donor engagement, awareness, and brand loyalty
  • Marcus digital story best practises—writing, SEO optimization (Drupal CMS), accessibility, and stakeholder alignment
  • Content quality assurance, audience insights, and performance-driven optimisation
  • Cross-functional collaboration across UK, Ireland, the USA, and external partners (creators, designers, developers)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain/upvote high-impact digital content (website, newsletters, blogs, social media) that measurably drives awareness, fundraising, and brand loyalty
  • Lead digital copywriting and editing, ensuring brand alignment, tone consistency, and accessibility compliance
  • Guide SEO and digital performance strategy to maximise reach and conversions
  • Coordinate with project teams to deliver priority-driven, content-rich experiences
  • Manage and document website and campaign workflows, tackling parallel deadlines under pressure
  • Supporting the organisation’s maternity cover requirement, ensuring seamless handover

Essential & Desirable Criteria

Essential:

✔ Proven expertise in UK campaign design, fundraising strategy, and digital storytelling, including CMS platforms (Drupal preferred) ✔ Consistently tailored, engaging, and high-quality content (demonstrate editing experience across 3+ platforms, e.g. WordPress/Sanity) ✔ Organisational mastery in prioritisation workflows (immutable deadlines, cross-team delegation, complex stakeholder alignment) ✔ Confidence in brand voice befitting a globally recognised humanitarian organisation ✔ Technical fluency in SEO, digital optimisation, and accessibility best practises(W3C standards preferred) ✔ Comfort liaising with design, development, and campaign teams (global and local diversity non-negotiable)

Desirable:

🔹 Familiarity with non-profit-specific tools or CRM platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Salesforce) 🔹 Pre-existing content governance framework (content repository, review processes) 🔹 Interest in or engagement with global development or humanitarian issues
