Job Description
Your new role
Are you a content creator with a love of podcasts with a passion for making engaging social and video content? If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where your organisational skills will be as valued as your creative thinking, this role is for you.
As Podcast Producer you will work closely with audio producers and the podcast video team to create content that drives engagement, builds audience, and amplifies the impact of Global’s slate of original podcasts.
Generating fresh and exciting ideas for assets, as well as producing/editing short-form video, you will develop and execute social media strategies for podcasts across our factual and entertainment slates. This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of current social media trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation and Planning (60%): Create a schedule of engaging visual content for Global’s original podcasts to help audiences discover our podcasts
- Shoots (20%): Together with the podcast video team, work with presenters, producers and video editors to create visual content for our social media platforms.
- Analysis (20%): Use analytics to provide feedback to relevant teams and improve output of content

What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
- Built strong relationships with podcast team, video team, and wider Global Player teams
- Planned, created and scheduled engaging social posts for our podcasts, optimising content for various channels and developing a knack for what makes a post fly
- Taken ownership over your podcasts’ social channels, acting as the content manager for these channels
- Embraced our workflows, ensuring smooth, efficient delivery of content
- Thrived in a supportive, passionate team

What You’ll Need
- A passion for podcasts and the podcasting community
- The ability to adapt voice and tone by show, with sharp editorial judgment about what’s right for the podcast, talent and audience
- A deep understanding of YouTube viewing behaviour, hooks and retention strategies
- Proficiency in Photoshop to make eye-catching YouTube thumbnails and shareable Instagram graphics
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro to edit high-performing short form video content from the longer form video episodes as well as original social content
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices. Priority platforms are Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
- Experience in community management and audience engagement
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Attention to detail: A meticulousness in ensuring every piece of content is of the highest standard
- Flexibility & positivity: A can-do attitude to managing a busy schedule of social content and delivering top results to share with the team
