The Opportunity
The Content Protection Unit (CPU) protects intellectual property for BPI members, PPL, and the BPI itself via:
- Technical/legal strategies for digital-physical music content.
- Anti-piracy fight tactics, including:
- AI-driven infringement strategies
- World-leading website blocking programmes
- Offline enforcement (e.g., takedowns, seizures)
- Collaboration on legal cases

Role:
Join a 15-person investigative team—specifically the 4-person digital investigations unit—reporting to the Digital Content Protection Manager. Work closely with:
- Physical Protection team
- Delisting team
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate & enforce against infringing mobile apps.
- Action member takedown requests.
- Monitor for online infringement.
- Collate & report enforcement data.
- Evidence inline with regulatory best practices.
- Support investigations team ad hoc.
Ideal Experience
- Experience/involvement with anti-piracy initiatives.
- Knowledge of music industry operations.
- Understanding of copyright & music rights.
- Experience conducting open-source investigations online.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Attention to detail in multiple regulatory frameworks.
- Critical thinking & problem-solving.
- Strong communication with stakeholders.
- Independent, proactive, and structured:
- Self-manage tasks (e.g., Planner tools).
- Prioritise work by ROI & strategic outcomes.
- Technical skills:
- Full MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Adaptability to conflicting/changing priorities.
- Positive personality:
- Friendly, collaborative, inclusive team member.
- Music industry awareness (e.g., trends).
- Fast learner, comfortable with new programmes/tooling.
