Digital Corporate Communications Intern - Year in Industry Placement

Responsibilities

This year-in-industry placement (runs Sept 2026 for 1 year) will immerse you across:

  • Corporate communications
  • Employer brand
  • Investor relations
  • Wider corporate functions

Key Work Areas

  • Content Creation: Support and deliver engaging content for web and social channels in various formats. Examples:
    • Craft digital content
    • Develop video/visual assets aligned with the Smith+Nephew brand
    • Combine imagination and storytelling to bring stories to life

  • Social Media:

    • Assist with planning, scheduling, and community engagement
    • Ensure messaging is aligned, clear, and impactful
  • Brand & Messaging:

  • Website & Performance:

    • Support website content updates
    • Learn enterprise-level web editing
    • Track performance metrics
    • Contribute to reporting and content optimisation

Requirements

Ideal candidates are:

  • Curious, creative, and excited by a communications future.
  • Flourishing in fast-paced environments.
  • Eager to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to real impact.

Education & Background:

  • Completion of at least two years of a Bachelor’s degree (ideally in PR, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related subject).
  • Alternatively: Graduates of 2026 seeking a post-graduate transition into industry.

Essential Skills & Qualities:

  • Strong interest in content creation, digital communications, and social media
  • Willingness to learn new tools and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills (written and visual)
  • Proactive, organised, and confident to:
    • Collaborate across teams
    • Take initiative in your work

Additional Notes

  • This role is typically a year-long placement starting Sept 2026 (terms from employer confirm finalised dates).
