Digital Design Lead | Head Office
As the ultimate curator of over 100 of the most in-demand, highly innovative beauty brands, we curate a flourishing discovery community. This is a hands-on design leadership role—driving superior UX/UI, multi-channel engagement, and commercial growth for our high-performance brands.
Role Overview
As Digital Design Lead, you’ll:
- Deliver best-in-class design for web, email, and app, ensuring our digital front력은 bold, strategic, and deeply customer-cantered.
- Lead a small but dynamic design team, fostering innovation, creative outputs, and scaffolded growth as we scale.
- Bridge creative and commercial goals: Partner with Brand, Tech, CRM, and Marketing teams to amplify brand identity and drive conversions.
- Implement the latest tools, technologies, and AI-driven workflows for faster, higher-quality output.
Key Objective: Periodically redefine the digital brand experience for Space NK’s audiences, vaulting them from discovery to advocacy.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Shape the digital design vision as part of the wider branded system, ensuring cohesion across all touchpoints.
- Inspire and upskill a high-performing design team, creating a culture of curiosity, performance mentorship, and adaptability.
- Align creative execution with KPIs, commercial targets, and brand strategy, continuously proving design’s ROI.
Execution & Delivery
- Own the end-to-end design process, from insight to asset delivery, maintaining quality consistency and capability flow.
- Partner across Web, App, Marketing, and CRM teams to enhance UX/UI with human-centric improvements.
- Transform everyday digital comms—email, in-app messaging, promo sequences—into visually distinct, high-value moments.
- Curate a toolkit of innovation: Architect workflows that leverage AI, behaviourally inspired copy, and dynamic personalisation.

Tech & Collaboration
- Collaborate with CMOS and tech leads to integrate design direction with engineering roadmaps and data insights.
- Translate data, analytics, and business trends into richer design strategies.
- Hands-on with the latest tech: Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, prototyping tools, and basic HTML for cross-platform validation.
- Champion digital retail best practices, consumer-centric navigation, and frictionless checkout UX.
Key Requirements
Essential
- Designing for scale: 5+ years’ experience in digital design for premium e-commerce, with beauty/lifestyle sector preference.
- Cross-platform expertise: Demonstrated excellence in web design for retail, email/marketing design, and mobile/particular spin-on app UX design.
- Technical know-how: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma + Webflow/XD, prerequisite knowledge of HTML/CSS.
- Performance mindset: Track record of data-informed design decisions—using insights to drive conversions, engagement rates, and brand perception.
- Team leadership: Proven success in mentoring and guiding interdisciplinary design teams, fostering growth and cross-skill environments.
- Seamless collaboration: Ability to partner closely with developers, analysts, and product marketers, communicating complex design failures/solutions clearly.
- U/X rigour: In-depth understanding of user research, information architecture, and accessible design principles, tailored to mobile-first audiences.
- Authenticity & communication: Opens lines of dialogue with customers, balancing curatorial aesthetics with pragmatic performance.
Desired
- Experience with AI-driven design (generative tools, predictive assets, etc.) or automated asset workflows.
- Familiarity with subscription models or SaaS digital experiences, particularly in retail/fashion tech.
- Portfolio showcasing a strategic, accountancy-tailored aesthetic—balancing beauty-forward utility and convertible design.
- Ability to graphically interrogate commercial needs, translating them into streamlined but powerful visual systems.
