We have an exciting new opportunity as a Digital Design Engineer.

Sitting within the Design Excellence team of the Capital Design and Delivery Department, this role will be part of a team delivering CAD/ BIM outputs using the latest software technologies.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Design Manager to lead our team of Digital Designers in delivering innovative and efficient 3D modelling solutions across complex water and wastewater treatment projects.

Reporting to the Design Excellence Business Lead, this is a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital engineering within our organisation, driving excellence in design and digital standards, BIM implementation and digital capability development.

Your responsibilities will also include overseeing the deployment and maintenance of Autodesk licenses and hardware, resolving technical issues in collaboration with the Group Technology Team, and working with the Innovation Team to explore and integrate emerging digital tools. Finally, you will support the development of our Standard Design Library, assist in improving asset information through BIM, and collaborate with engineers to enhance the planning and design of infrastructure installations.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

As Digital Design Manager, you will have experience leading a team of digital designers working on complex civil, mechanical, electrical, and ICA projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality 3D models and drawings from feasibility through to outline design.

You Will Be

  • Responsible for managing team workloads to meet project deadlines while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • A key part of your role will be to build capability within the water and waste infrastructure teams, enabling them to independently deliver less complex digital design tasks.
  • You will establish and maintain robust CAD and data management standards, champion the consistent use of BIM across all projects, and contribute to the evolution of the organisation’s Digital Engineering Strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of a collaborative BIM Stage 2 approach, managing the Common Data Environment (CDE) to ensure effective coordination among internal and external stakeholders.
