Digital Design Studio Graduate

About the Role

This is a 2 year graduate role within the JD Group Creative Studio, sitting across the Retouch, Design and Motion Graphics Teams. Structured across four six-month segments, the placement is designed to give a motivated undergraduate a deep, progressive grounding in commercial creative content creation, from foundational image retouching through to graphic design, motion graphics, and ultimately end-to-end campaign work for one of the UK's most recognisable sportswear and fashion brands.

The successful candidate will rotate through distinct disciplines within the studio, building a multi-faceted skillset that reflects how modern creative teams operate. Where retouching, design, and motion increasingly converge. Each segment has its own development plan, milestones, and line manager.

Year 1 (Months 1 – 6): Retouch Foundations

The placement begins in the Retouch team. The focus is on building precise, repeatable skills in commercial image retouching, working at volume across e-commerce and campaign photography.

What you’ll work on

  • E-commerce image retouching across footwear, apparel and accessories
  • Product colour matching for accuracy across digital channel
  • Footwear still life retouching — one of the studio’s core specialisms
  • Paid and organic social image retouching
  • Campaign Retouching & Colour Grading
  • Generative AI Briefs and Training
  • Working to briefs and managing feedback via Frame.io

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
