Role Description

The Digital Education Librarian is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London. This role involves designing, delivering, and evaluating digital learning resources and library instruction to support students and staff across disciplines. The postholder will collaborate with academic departments to integrate digital library services into curricula, support online and blended learning, and promote effective use of digital collections and metadata.

  • Providing specialist advice on digital scholarship tools
  • Managing and improving access to electronic resources
  • Contributing to library policies and workflows related to digital education
  • Participating in outreach activities
  • Offering training sessions and workshops
  • Working closely with colleagues to enhance the overall student and staff experience

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Library Science and Library Services, with experience in academic or research library environments.
  • Skills in Library Management and Metadata, including organizing, describing, and maintaining digital and print collections.
  • Experience in Library Instruction, with the ability to design and deliver information literacy and digital skills teaching.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., librarianship, information science, digital education) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with digital learning platforms, discovery tools, and electronic resource management systems.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse academic community.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on user-centred service enhancement.
  • Awareness of emerging trends in digital education, open access, and digital scholarship, and willingness to continue professional development.
