Digital Enablement Trainer – GP IT Reprovisioning Support

Digital Enablement Primary Care Team, NHS Fife ** Contract: 18-month fixed-term | Life-changing work. Inspiring people.**

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists within NHS Fife’s Digital Enablement Primary Care Team to deliver GP IT Reprovisioning training across our GP practices.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, insightful individual who excels at clarifying complex information in a supportive, engaging manner, with a genuine passion for uplifting others through opportunities to learn and adapt.

This role, relevant to external applicants or existing NHS-practitioners seeking a secondment, will focus on:

  • Training and supporting GP practice staff during the transition to new digital systems.
  • Ensuring confidence and competence in using tools that improve operational efficiency and patient care.
  • Advocating for digital change as an exemplary representative of NHS Fife’s broader digital modernisation agenda — supporting the seamless flow of information, continuity of service, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted training to GP staff on new IT systems, adaptable to individual needs, roles, and units.
    • Training design, delivery (both in-person and virtual).
    • Developing supplementary guides and documentation for ongoing reference.
  • Offer specialist IT troubleshooting to PCS staff during transition, helping to mitigate disruption and ensuring smooth adoption.
  • Monitor and adapt delivery based on feedback and platform rollout progress.
  • Promote awareness of new IT infrastructure training within practices and across primary care teams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote alignment with NHS Fife’s strategic digital transformation vision.

  • Frequent travel required across Fife and Scotland, with the ability to adjust working hours as needed for training sessions.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical or operational terminology into clear, supportive guidance. (Evidence from formal instruction roles or experience guiding colleagues through changes will strengthen your application.)
  • Exceptional understanding of workforce, administrative or operational digital transformation in professional services (preferably GP systems, clinical software, or healthcare IT).
  • Comfortable with role as trusted advisor – you should thrive on influencing others to make positive, considered change.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, solution-orientated nature with an ability to plan ahead and manage efficient processes.
  • Well-organised approach to training scheduling, travel planning, and session delivery across distributed teams.

Fixed-Term/Secondment Opportunity

This is a fixed-term opportunity (18 month contract). There will also be the potential for approved internal secondments.

🔹 Staff not already covered under an existing approved secondment agreement must liaise with their current line manager before applying.
