Senior Digital Energy Market Lead – Arup

Arup is seeking a Senior Digital Energy Market Lead to accelerate our growth in the UK and strengthen our relationships with senior decision-makers across the energy market—particularly in Arup’s priority markets of:
- Transmission & Distribution
- Molecular Solutions
- Renewables
The Opportunity
This is a strategic hire for a proven consulting leader who can combine deep sector insight, digital transformation expertise, and commercial ambition with Arup’s technical credibility, multidisciplinary reach, and strong values.
Ideal for partners or senior directors from consulting or advisory firms who want to move beyond generic transformation consulting and build a business backed by world-class engineering, design, digital, and sustainability capability.
Arup seeks a passionate, technically and commercially strong leader with experience in consulting, digital advisory practices, and a strong external presence.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Shaping digital advisory service propositions
- Leading projects across the lifecycle: strategy, design, delivery, and handover into operation
- Taking on technical and business leadership of this fundamental area
- Developing deep capabilities and managing bidding strategies for internal/external clients
This role reports to the Global Digital Energy Leader (Simon Evans) and sits within the Digital Services Portfolio—a centre of excellence combining advanced digital, advisory, technology, analytics, and product expertise to drive value for clients.

- Optimising system operations
- Project creation/development
- Customer engagement
Essential Experience
✔ Leading digital energy projects in consulting and key expertise in:
- Data, digital, and AI involvement across different project levels
- Project and change management within energy initiatives ✔ Business development & advisory track record: Winning high-quality work for clients ✔ Senior-level relationship-building within C-suite executives and Chief Data/Digital Officers ✔ Active involvement in national/international digital energy agendas and programs ✔ Networks/vendors in the digital energy sector
