Salary £40,383 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £44,700 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension

Hours per week: This role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.


About the role:

We are welcoming applications for the role of Regional Digital Forensic Gatekeeper with Dorset/Devon and Cornwall Police. This is an opportunity to join 3 existing gatekeepers to add resilience to the team. This is a specialised position within South West Forensics who handle data extraction for Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Avon and Somerset and Wiltshire Police. You will report to the Digital Forensics Operations Managers, you will quality assure digital forensic case submissions, by acting as a specialist gatekeeper for every exhibit submitted, aiming to raise the quality of submissions and ensure compliance with legislation, forensic science, ICO and GDPR requirements. Ability to communicate well is an important criteria as the successful applicant will be liaising between police officers and senior investigating officers.

Type of working arrangement:

Hybrid worker – hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer’s workspace. This is primarily a remote working position with attendance in person required at quarterly managers meetings within the area of South West Forensic (Wiltshire, Avon and Somerset, Dorset and Devon and Cornwall).

Hours per week:
This role is 22 hrs per week, Wednesdays and Fridays with third day being flexible to be agreed between successful applicant and D&C/Dorset Police
