Cybersecurity and Technology Controls

As a Digital Forensics Senior Associate in the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls line of business, you’ll help safeguard the firm’s digital assets through advanced analytical, technical, and problem-solving expertise. Working across multiple business units, you’ll manage complex cybersecurity incidents, identify vulnerabilities, and implement strategic recommendations. Your deep knowledge of digital forensics, cybersecurity operations, and threat intelligence directly impacts our risk reduction efforts. Stay ahead of cyber threats through forensic research and development while enabling JPMorgan Chase to maintain a secure digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Investigation & Analysis
- Utilise digital forensic tools (e.g., X-Ways, EnCase, Autopsy) to support internal investigations and cybersecurity-related matters.
- Conduct detailed analyses of cybersecurity breaches, delivering root cause assessments and impact evaluations.
- Prepare comprehensive forensic reports and contribute to in-house cybersecurity training programs.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Work with Legal, Technology, and HR teams to support incident response and regulatory compliance proceedings.
- Partner with cybersecurity operations to detect vulnerabilities, enhance security controls, and proactively mitigate risks.
- Assess digital forensics controls within JPMorgan Chase to identify gaps, deficiencies, and weaknesses—then assist in remediation plans.
- Drive innovative forensic projects and process improvements across teams.

Advanced Analysis & Upskilling
- Perform in-depth examinations of digital evidence, including memory forensics, malware analysis, and network traffic dissection.
- Leverage scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript) for automation, data analysis, and forensic tool interaction.
- Develop expertise in e-discovery, incident response, and threat intelligence to enhance operational resilience.
Required Qualifications & Skills
(Expertise in all areas below is essential)
Technical Proficiencies
- 3+ years of experience in digital forensics, cybersecurity operations, or incident response.
- Specialised knowledge in:
- Computer forensics, incident response, and malware analysis.
- Forensic tools: X-Ways Forensics, Autopsy, EnCase, Volatility, Wireshark.
- Scripting languages (Python, Bash, JavaScript, PowerShell) for automation & analysis.
- Strong understanding of forensic methodologies and toolchain outputs—able to explain results to technical *and non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical & Detail-Oriented
- Proficiency in analysing digital artefacts, network logs, and user behaviour to detect malicious or anomalous activity.
- Ability to assess forensic investigations and incident scales with precision.
Preferred Qualifications & Assets
(Not mandatory but highly valued)
Cutting-Edge Expertise
- Experience with acquisition & forensic analysis of cloud data (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Advanced memory forensics techniques.
- Relevant certifications: GCFA (GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst), GNFA (GIAC Network Forensic Analyst), GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler).
- Hands-on experience in malware reverse engineering.
- Strong problem-solving mindset for research-driven forensics projects.
