Digital Information Manager
Digital Information Manager – Permanent | Full-Time (50% Office Based)
Role Overview
Base Location: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness, or Perth (50% office-based) Salary: £44,000–£65,900 + performance bonus + competitive benefits Working Pattern: Permanent | Full-Time, with flexible options available (e.g., hybrid)
Due to sustained expansion, SSEN Transmission’s Offshore Delivery Directorate seeks a Digital Information Manager to lead the evolution of digital data and modelling management across large-scale energy infrastructure in Scotland’s energy landscape.
This opportunity requires expertise in ISO 19650-driven information management, ensuring seamless data validation across systems and effective collaboration within supply chain frameworks.
Key Responsibilities

Advance Digital & Information Strategy
- Provide specialist input to ISO 19650-aligned information requirements and documentation.
- Validate high-quality data and information from diverse supply chain sources, ensuring compliance with project needs.

Commercial & Legal Collaborations
- Support legal and commercial teams in contract preparation, producing project-specific PQQs, bids, and digital implementation strategies.

Manage BIM & EIR Implementation
- Define and govern Exchange & Information Requirements (EIR) in line with recognised standards (ISO 19650), internal governance, and emerging best practices.
- Review Tender Electronic Submissions (TES) project-specific requirements, including BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and digital supporting documents for geo-information systems (GIS) and IT assessment.

Coordinator of Technical Information
- Act as the primary liaison for project-specific digital information, encompassing:
- Active engagement with contractors and suppliers on technical information issues.
- Problem-solving advanced data challenges across interoperable software and systems.
- Coordination and validation of deliverables from systems like BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or other CDEs.
- Act as the primary liaison for project-specific digital information, encompassing:

Document Control & System Integration
- Assist Document Control teams in setting up and maintaining compliant Common Data Environments (CDEs) adhering to the UK BIM Framework and internal practices.
- Apply BS EN ISO 19650 processes for project governing data environments.

BIM Model Coordination
- Lead BIM Coordination teams to deliver high-quality services:
- Collaboratively perform model interrogation, coordination, and clash detection across Schneider (package contractors), feeding insights back into design decision-making.

Job Requirements
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Extensive hands-on experience as a Lead BIM Coordinator, BIM/Information Manager or similar, ideally on high-complexity infrastructure projects.
- Preferred Proficiency: Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, or equivalent digital collaboration tools (but knowledge of other CDE environments is a plus).
- Proven expertise in:
- 2D & 3D CAD tools: AutoCAD Family Plus, Revit, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
- Core energy sector workflows, including substations, overhead lines, and converter stations systems mapping.
- Deep knowledge of ISO 19650 and UK BIM Framework standards.
- Strong grasp of industry-wide information & data management best practices.
- Ability to handle collaborative model coordination, clash detection, and model federation in complex/fractured environments (including comparable third-party tools like popular CDE solutions).

- Experience with GIS and map tools, especially Esri solutions (and supporting software ecosystems).
