Location & Base

  • Base Location: Permanent role requiring successful applicants to be based in one of our Scottish locations (Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness, or Perth)
  • Working Pattern: 50% office attendance, permanent Full Time with flexible working options available

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £44,000 – £65,900 per annum

About the Role

SSEN Transmission’s Offshore Delivery Directorate requires a seasoned Digital Information Manager to lead digital data and modelling management across large-scale energy frameworks in Scotland.

Your core responsibility will be:

  • Directly contributing to ISO 19650-driven Information Requirements and processes documentation
  • Validating data and information supplied by suppliers across systems and tools under the energy framework

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Legal & Commercial Functions

    • Assist in shaping contracts, PQQs (Pre-qualification Questionnaires), and BIM (Building Information Modelling) execution plans for digital implementation projects.
  • Lead Digital Information Governance

    • Define and oversee Exchange & Information Requirements (EIR) in compliance with UK BIM standards and internal governance frameworks.

  • Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Serve as the primary liaison for digital information coordination, including resolving technical and information management issues related to contractors and suppliers.
    • Manage data consistency across interlinked software systems, technologies, and CAD/3D modelling platforms, including supplier scrutiny of BEP packages.
  • Common Data Environment (CDE) Management

    • Partner with Document Control on BIM Collaboration tools (e.g., Autodesk BIM 360, Common Data Environment setups) to align documentation with project requirements.
  • BIM Coordination & Clash Detection

    • Guide BIM Coordinators in model interrogation, coordinating, federating, and detecting clashes between package contractors to resolve critical design conflicts and influence key decision-making.

Requirements & Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience as a:
    • Lead BIM Coordinator
    • BIM Manager or Information Manager (preferably on major infrastructure projects)
    • Proficiency in BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud (knowledge of other similar CDEs is a bonus)
  • Specialised CAD & Modelling Skills
    • 2D and 3D CAD/Modelling (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks)
    • Energy/linear-vertical Infrastructure Focus
      • Examples: Converter stations, substations, overhead transmission lines, and underground cables

  • Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Experience

    • Experience using Esri GIS or Autodesk GIS-related tools for design data management
  • Proficiency in Standardised Information Management

    • ISO 19650 authority guidance
    • Knowledge in UK BIM Framework buy-in and industry best practices
  • Project/Cross-platform Data Coordination & Clash Detection

    • Applied experience with:
      • Navisworks (for model checks, clash detection) or similar tools)
      • Managing Common Data Environment (CDE) federation controls
