Base Location For this role, we require successful applicants to be based in one of our Scottish locations, with an expectation of spending 50% of your working week in the office: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness, or Perth.

About the Role

In response to expansion and growing demands, SSEN Transmission’s Offshore Delivery Directorate seeks a Digital Information Manager to lead the development of digital data and modelling management across a large-scale energy framework in Scotland.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Drive ISO 19650-compliant Information Requirements and processes.
  • Validate data/information supplied under the framework by our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid legal and commercial teams in preparing contracts, PQQs, and digitisation-related documentation for projects.
  • Define and oversee the Exchange & Information Requirements (EIR), aligning with industry standards, governance, and evolving needs. Review project-specific BEP (BIM Execution Plans) and associated technical documentation.
    • Notable engagements: Contractor/supplier liaisons, problem resolution, IT/GIS data governance, and technical queries management.
  • Steer colleagues and contractors in BIM coordination—model interrogation, coordination (clash detection, federation) to resolve design inconsistencies early.
  • Collaborate with Document Control to set up and administer project spaces within the Common Data Environment (CDE), adhering to BS EN ISO 19650 processes.
  • Mentor junior BIM coordinators on executing collaboration tools effectively.

Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • Lead BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager, or Information Manager role, collaborated on major infrastructure projects (ideally using BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud but open to other CDEs).
  • Deep expertise in CAD and 3D modelling for Scottish energy assets: Substations, Converter Stations, Overhead Lines, Cables.
  • Mastery of software: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks.
  • Fluency in ISO 19650, UK BIM Framework, and project/industry standards for information/data governance.

Preferred Skills

  • Desktop GIS (Esri ArcGIS) experience to enhance design workflows.
  • Practical expertise in clash detection/federation using Navisworks or similar tools.
  • Proven project/project management capabilities.
