Digital Marketing and Communications Assistant

We are currently recruiting a Digital Marketing and Communications assistant to support a variety of content tasks related to the social enterprise’s current projects. We are looking for an individual who is passionate, hands-on, and can multi-task.

By improving the quality and reach of our digital content, the volunteer helps us raise awareness of our projects, engage beneficiaries, and attract new supporters and partners. Their contribution directly supports our mission to address social, economic, and environmental challenges through education, technology, and community activism. Effective digital communication enables us to amplify impact, build trust, and ensure our work reaches those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Create and upload copy and images for the organisation’s website
  • Write and dispatch email marketing campaigns
  • Provide accurate reports and analysis to demonstrate return on investment
  • Research new online media opportunities, including social media, blogs, and forums
  • Support the design of website banners and digital visuals
  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners
  • Conduct keyword research
  • Contribute to social media engagement
  • Monitor web analytics to recommend improvements
  • Contribute to blogs
  • Manage e-communications
  • Assist with paid media coordination
  • Develop content marketing strategies
  • Stay updated on digital trends
  • Manage contact databases
  • Support lead generation
  • Liaise with media suppliers when required

Essential Requirements (must-haves)

Experience and knowledge

  • Three years of prior experience in social media, marketing, or business is essential.
  • A strong interest in digital communications and sustainable development is expected.

  • Basic digital literacy and a reliable internet connection are essential.
  • Proficiency with modern digital tools for remote collaboration, including:
    • Email and calendar management

Desirable Skills and Experience (nice-to-haves)

  • Experience working in a remote or digitally focused team.

What will you be doing?

The volunteer will support the Communications Team by creating and uploading copy and images for the organisation’s website, preparing and sending email marketing campaigns, and contributing to the planning and delivery of digital content. They will help monitor performance through analytics, research new online media opportunities, and support the development of content marketing strategies. The role also involves contributing to social media engagement, maintaining digital assets, assisting with paid media coordination, and keeping the team informed of emerging digital trends. The volunteer will work closely with the content marketing team and the administration team, with flexibility in hours and days to accommodate their availability.
