Our ultimate aim is to provide increased value to both our customers and society. New, game-changing ideas and continuous improvement have been part of our DNA since 1834. As part of Wärtsilä’s Marketing and Communications, Digital Marketing Operations and Technology team, we are looking for a Digital Marketing Development and Technology Lead.

In this role, you will define and lead the strategic direction of the Wärtsilä website as a core digital business and brand platform, while driving the development of search capabilities across SEO, GEO, and AEO to strengthen discoverability, engagement, and long-term value creation across traditional and generative search environments.

You will collaborate closely with the other Digital Marketing Development and Technology Leads as well as Marketing Operations Experts, Wärtsilä IT, our business marketing teams, and key stakeholders across the organisation to align the website and search development with broader business priorities, customer needs, and evolving digital opportunities. This position reports to the Head of Digital Marketing Technology.

The preferred locations for this role are Finland, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland, or the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owning and driving the strategic direction of wartsila.com, ensuring the website supports business growth, customer engagement, and brand objectives
  • Leading the prioritisation and development of website capabilities, translating business needs, user insights, and market developments into a clear roadmap
  • Owning the search strategy across SEO, GEO, and AEO, and driving related development initiatives to improve digital visibility, reach, and performance across search and generative platforms
  • Building Wärtsilä’s zero-click understanding and action plan to strengthen content visibility and effectiveness within search engine results and AI-powered discovery experiences
  • Owning website reporting, analytics, and performance follow-up to generate actionable insights, guide decision-making, and maximise business value
  • Leading Salesforce-related website development in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders to support integrations and enable seamless digital experiences
  • Owning and developing the relevant technology stack, including vendor collaboration, governance, and license management, to ensure scalability, reliability, and future readiness
  • Ensuring the effective maintenance, optimisation, and troubleshooting of the digital technology stack that supports website performance and continuity
  • Providing hands-on support for execution-related activities when needed, while maintaining a strong focus on strategic development priorities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
