About The Role

We are excited to offer a 12-month (with potential extension) digital marketing opportunity for a Digital Marketing Executive – Japan to join our Digital Marketing team on a full-time basis, based in our Battersea office.

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual to support the launch and ongoing growth of our Japanese eCommerce platform. This role will play a pivotal part in driving localised marketing strategy and ensuring alignment with brand objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Digital Marketing & Website Management (Japan)

  • Own and lead the digital marketing and editorial strategy for the Japanese locale, ensuring alignment with brand and commercial objectives.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of all on-site content, including homepages, editorial pages, blogs, and campaign landing pages.
  • Ensure all content is culturally relevant, on-brand, and optimised for performance in the Japanese market.
  • Manage end-to-end localisation workflows, overseeing adaptations of global campaigns and content for Japan across internal teams, translators, and external partners.
  • Drive continuous on-site optimisation through data-led insights, improving engagement, conversion, and UX.

CRM & Lifecycle Marketing (Japan)

  • Own the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of the Japanese Customer Data Platform (CDP) ecosystem.
  • Lead localised CRM strategies, including email marketing and lifecycle planning.
  • Define and manage audience segmentation, personalisation frameworks, and automation flows tailored to Japan.
  • Analyse campaign performance, extract actionable insights, and optimise CRM activities to improve retention and Lifetime Value (LTV).
  • Own reporting cadence, delivering weekly and monthly performance reports to stakeholders and Japanese partners.

Analytics, Data & Performance

  • Lead the implementation of Japanese-market analytics frameworks, aligned with global standards.
  • Own KPI setting, dashboard development, and performance tracking across all digital and eCommerce data/channels.
  • Ensure data integrity and tracking accuracy, proactively identifying gaps or optimisation opportunities.
  • Translate data into strategic recommendations to drive growth and efficiency.

SEO Strategy & Technical Tickets (Japan)

  • Coordinate the overall SEO strategy for Japan (technical, on-site, off-site initiatives).
  • Manage Japanese ticket workflows and collaborate with developers on technical SEO requirements.

Marketing & Social Media Strategy (Japan)

  • Support Japanese marketing approach, ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Own social media strategy (content direction, calendar management, performance optimisation).
  • Align social, CRM, paid media, and on-site content to deliver a cohesive customer journey.
  • Work closely with local partners to maximise brand relevance.

Global Digital Marketing & APAC Support

  • Maintain global reporting frameworks, ensuring accuracy and actionability.
  • Monitor GTP (Google Tag Manager)/Google Analytics, flagging discrepancies proactively.
  • Support smaller APAC markets, particularly social media planning.
  • Assist the global team with ad-hoc strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Contribute to broader digital activities, ensuring global alignment.

Operational & Cross-Functional Support

  • Oversee translation quality and consistency of all Japanese content.
  • Provide logistical/digital support for retail initiatives where required.
  • Serve as key linkages for internal/external stakeholders.

Profile & Key Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years in digital marketing, content management, CRM/email marketing, or related fields.
  • Native-level Japanese fluency with strong English communication skills.
  • Localisation experience for Japanese audiences.
  • CDP tool familiarity (preferably Ometria).
  • Web analytics expertise (GA4, Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Details-oriented, organised, and strong project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • eCommerce experience, ideally in global/cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Japanese digital consumer behaviour.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (Salesforce) and localisation tools.
  • HTML/CSS basics (a plus).
