About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Plowman Craven. The successful candidate will play a vital role in conducting land, construction, and topographical surveys, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, providing valuable insights and technical expertise to support project planning, design, and execution. The Surveyor will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality survey data and reports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a relevant qualification in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in land or construction surveying is essential, with familiarity in using modern survey equipment such as total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and drone technology. A thorough understanding of surveying software and data processing tools is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex data accurately. Professional certification such as RICS or equivalent is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to work effectively within a team, are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct land, topographical, and construction surveys using advanced equipment and techniques to gather precise data.
  • Prepare survey reports, maps, and drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand survey requirements and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all survey activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of site investigations and data collection activities.
  • Support the integration of survey data into design and engineering workflows, providing technical support as needed.
  • Keep detailed records of survey activities, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
  • Stay updated with the latest surveying technologies and industry best practices to continually improve service delivery.
