Digital & Multimedia Director, Radio Times (salary from £85,000)

Immediate is home to some of the biggest and most loved consumer brands in the UK, including Radio Times, Good Food and BBC Gardeners World magazine. Our trusted, quality content reaches millions of people a month across digital, print, video, podcasts, apps and live events.

We're the destination for people looking to get more from the things they love. We're here to inspire, fuel, encourage and educate.

Whether it's the big things, or the little things; from reaching fitness goals to savouring good food, cultivating outdoor spaces, or enjoying the latest TV sensation - we help bring our audiences joy!

About The Role

The Digital & Multimedia Director joins Radio Times at a pivotal point in its 100-year publishing journey. This leadership role will drive the brand's evolution from market-leading but platform-siloed editorial production to an integrated, multimedia-first operating model. The role will help foster a collaborative, high-performing culture that combines editorial excellence with experimentation, innovation and operational discipline overseeing transformation technically, and creatively in line with audience consumption whilst maintaining the authentic identity, editorial integrity, and audience trust that underpin the brand today.

The Digital & Multimedia Director works in close partnership with the Editorial Director and the senior editorial team to ensure our market-leading content reaches audiences in the right formats, on the right platforms, with the right support, insight and production models behind it.

This is a role for someone who understands the editorial mindset: how stories are commissioned, created, edited, packaged and trusted by audiences. The successful candidate will build our talented teams' strong ideas into deeper audience relationships across print, web, app, video, audio, social and emerging platforms. They will articulate why change is needed, bring colleagues with them, listen carefully to editorial concerns, and create practical workflows that make high-quality multimedia work easier to deliver.

This role provides leadership, structure and expertise in digital and multimedia growth, working collaboratively with editors, creators, production, product, commercial and technology teams. Clear decision-making is essential to how the role operates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the brand's multimedia content strategy across video, audio, social, web, app and emerging platforms, building a coherent ecosystem where every touchpoint has a clear audience and purpose.
  • Build scalable multimedia formats, franchises and premium IP that grow audience reach, strengthen brand affinity and create commercial opportunity.
  • Lead the development of a direct-to-audience strategy, with the app and owned platforms at the centre of building habitual audience relationships, deeper engagement and subscription growth.
  • Shape a compelling digital vision that goes beyond content distribution creating a destination audiences return to habitually through personalisation, utility, community, exclusive experiences and innovative storytelling.
  • Drive audience growth across owned and third-party platforms including YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, social, aggregator and emerging channels.
  • Develop platform-native storytelling and distribution strategies rooted in audience behaviour, data insight and changing consumption trends.
  • Use analytics, audience insight and performance data to optimise commissioning, distribution, engagement and conversion across the ecosystem.
  • Manage and deliver budget and commissioning processes in line with business value.
  • Oversee the development of modern production workflows, AI-assisted processes and scalable content operations that improve both efficiency and creative quality.
  • Partner closely with product and technology teams to align content strategy with audience, subscription and business goals.
  • Work in unison with commercial teams to ensure vision and product reflect and leverage market reality and respond to commercial opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
