Digital Practitioner - 18 month secondment

Digital Practitioner – Nurse/Midwifery/Allied Health Professional

About the Role

The Digital Practitioner plays a key role in supporting the safe and effective use of digital systems across clinical services at the Royal United Hospitals Bath. Working as part of the Digital Clinical Team, the postholder provides profession-specific expertise (nursing, midwifery, or allied health) to the design, implementation, optimisation, and adoption of digital systems, including the Electronic Patient Record (EPR).

This fixed-term, part-time development opportunity is designed to build future digital capability and support succession planning within nursing, midwifery, and allied health professions. The role acts as a bridge between frontline clinical teams and digital colleagues, ensuring digital solutions support safe, effective, and efficient clinical practice, improve data quality, and enhance patient and staff experience.

The postholder will support engagement, training, and digital confidence within their professional group, contribute to service improvement and quality initiatives, and play a crucial role in organisational readiness for major digital change.

Prior formal digital roles are not required – the Trust welcomes applications from clinicians with an interest in digital practice and a willingness to develop further.

  • Help identify digital training needs and deliver applicable training and guidance.
  • Provide visible, on-site support in clinical areas, offering coaching and guidance to improve digital documentation and data quality.
  • Assist in developing super-users or digital champions to enhance system adoption.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
