About Us
The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in UK financial services. Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers, or small businesses, and their financial service providers.
What You’ll Do
As a technology product owner, you will play a key role in supporting our future, tech-enabled customer and employee journeys.
Working with one of our established platform owners, and building on the organisation’s strategy, vision, and digital goals, you will help create and mature the roadmap for our digital products: Ombudsman Connect and our Digital Front Door.
You’ll be a strong advocate of the value your product(s) can bring, always looking for ways in which it can support and enable the organisation, and helping wider colleagues understand these opportunities.
Partnering with our casework teams, our enabling functions, as well as technology colleagues (internal, and external suppliers), you’ll be adept at building strong relationships, and communicating effectively between all parties to ensure that what we deliver will really move us forward.
Understanding both how our applications function, and what drives our organisation, will be crucial to your role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Experience of working with other product or platform owners to deliver meaningful product change through both internal and external delivery teams.
