Digital Product Specialist – Application Support Team
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has opened up to join the Application Support team as a Digital Product Specialist.
This role involves taking responsibility for a range of digital software applications across their entire lifecycle. Working collaboratively with Application Support Specialists, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality support and advice to users of critical digital systems within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Ideal for a dynamic, reliable individual who can work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Business Alignment & Promotion
- Assess and articulate the business benefits of the product, ensuring its requirements align with Hywel Dda University Health Board’s needs.
- Maintain an up-to-date technical understanding of the product.
- Actively promote the product’s value propositions and its implementation strategy.

Technical Leadership & Incident Management
- Provide expert technical knowledge in product development and execution.
- Manage and coordinate system downtime across the Health Board, minimising disruption.
- Schedule and ensure timely software releases to maintain operations.

Support & System Administration
- Oversee effective product usage, offering user support and specialist advice.
- Gather insights from users on requirements and workflow processes to shape product design, development, and deployment.
- Establish product-focused system administration procedures, setting policies and procedures.

Training & System Operations
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop training materials and content.
- Maintain appropriate system configurations to ensure functionality and security.
- Lead and manage all aspects of product testing, including:
- Preparation of test plans and scripts.
- Coordination and supervision of testing exercises.

Key Accountabilities
- Acting as the Health Board lead for this product, fostering strong links and integrations with other internal systems and specialists.
