Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC)

Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high-quality services to our communities, residents, and businesses. This means we must employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people.

About Us

Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making.

At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.

Job details

We’re looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Digital Services Manager to lead how we design, deliver, and improve digital services across the Council.

This is a high-impact role at the centre of transformation—working with senior leaders to turn ambition into delivery. You’ll shape our digital direction, lead a talented team, and ensure our services are simple, accessible, and built around customer need. And you’ll be joining us at a very exciting time as our LGR journey picks up pace, presenting an opportunity to shape digital services for a new Unitary Authority.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and deliver digital transformation programmes, collaborating with service managers on customer journey improvements
  • Use data and insights to drive continuous improvement of our digital products and services, including web and telephony, to ensure digital approaches deliver improved outcomes and service efficiencies
  • Shape strategic direction for digital activity in support of Corporate priorities and Local Government Reorganisation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
